This graphic was designed for East Central University’s freshman, middle blocker, Kellie Smith. The athlete had her roaster photos taken but reached out to me seaking edits to make this photo more bold and intimidating. To fit with the university’s mascot, the tigers, I added a ripped effect as if a tiger had lashed out and torn the background of the image. The text at the top shows the who and what of the subject of the image. The black of the uniform contrasts well with the white background to darken and intensify the image.

This poster was an assignment for a type and image class. The objective was to choose a font then conduct research to find some history behind the making of the font. I chose the well known font called Bembo. This old style font was founded back in 1929 as a serif. The color scheme was a pallet for calming soft blues to keep your eyes engaged yet also focused on the information permitted.

If you look into the horizon you will see this cover was designed for Dr. Robin Hall for her newest book release. The author’s overall vision for the cover was to be calm, comforting, yet inspiring. The client wanted to look to be a simple piece, aiming for an aesthetic, coffee table, book. The cover needed to indicate that a reader could casually pick up the book at any time, read a story or two, then close it back till later needed. I refrained from any flashy colors that would overpower the soft, sunset tones displayed on the cover. I was pleased with the finished product as the publisher approved the final design. This design was a wonderful opportunity to work with a client to meet specific guidelines and expectations while still getting to showcase my skills.
